In School Opportunities

There are a number of options available to violin and viola students within the Northern Virginia Public School Systems, the most accessible being your school's orchestra or string program. By participating in your school's program, your child will also be eligible to take advantage of other ensembles and programs run through the school system.  Many of these extra-curricular ensembles are auditioned and available only to students enrolled in their school's orchestra program.

Junior Honors Orchestra (Grades 4 - 6, Arlington Public Schools)

Senior Honors Orchestra (Grades 7 & 8, Arlington Public Schools)

Area Strings (Grades 4 - 6 , Fairfax/McLean Public Schools)

Arlington Youth Smphony (Grades 9 - 12)

Junior Regional Orchestra (Grades 7 & 8, Arlington and Fairfax Public Schools, District XII)

Senior District Orchestra (Grades 9 - 12, Arlington and Fairfax Public Schools, District XII)

Senior Regional Orchestra (Grades 9 - 12, Arlington and Fairfax Public Schools, District XII)

District XII Solo & Ensemble Festival (Grades 4 & up, Arlington and Fairfax Public Schools, District XII)

Fine Arts Apprentice Program (Grades 10 - 12, Arlington County)

Alexandria Symphony Orchestra Mentoring Program (Grades 9 - 12, Greater Alexandria Region)
